Office Safety Precautions in Effect During the Pandemic

My office is taking the following precautions to protect our clients and help slow the spread of the coronavirus.

  • Office seating has been arranged for appropriate physical distancing.

  • To the greatest extent possible my staff wears masks outside of the therapy room.

  • My staff maintains safe distancing.

  • Restroom soap dispensers are maintained and everyone is encouraged to wash their hands.

  • Hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol is available in the office.

  • We schedule appointments at specific intervals to minimize the number of interactions into and out of the office.

  • We ask all clients to wait in their cars or outside until their scheduled appointment times.

  • Credit card pads, pens and other areas that are commonly touched are thoroughly sanitized after each use.

  • Physical contact is not permitted.

  • Tissues and trash bins are easily accessed. Trash is disposed of on a frequent basis.

  • Common areas are thoroughly disinfected at the end of each day.

  • If you show up to your appointment and are exhibiting any of the following symptoms: fever of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, shortness of breath, dry cough, sore throat, diminished sense of taste or smell, you will be asked to leave. You may attend your session by using the telehealth app through Simple Practice OR you may choose to reschedule your session at a later date.

update as of 6/12/2020:

As businesses re-open and life is beginning to look more “normal”, many of you are ready to resume face-to-face sessions. This is a very personal decision for each person and your physical and emotional health continue to be my greatest focus. Therefore, as I open my office for in-person sessions, I will also continue to offer online sessions for clients on a case-by-case basis and am happy to discuss which option might be best for you.

Update as of 3/30/2020:

Your physical and emotional health is my greatest focus. Based on public health recommendations of social distancing, my practice will be moving to online video or phone sessions immediately to ensure you continue to have access to care, and that you don’t have to be concerned about possible exposure in my office. While I have not been exposed, I am taking the utmost care.

online therapy during the COVID-19 pandemic

Each day we wake up to news updates and an ever-growing list of changes we are making in our lives. It can bring up a lot of fear, anxiety, and even grief as plans are canceled, social distancing happens and daily routines are completely shifted. I truly value our relationship and have developed a plan so we can continue to take care of your mental health during this time. I want to be a place of support through what you are going through.
